xichen's eyes go wide at the sight of the weapons, and well, there are two he definitely knows how to use. and since two others are proficient in swords, he'll happily reach for the crossbow. ]
O Tannenbomer huh? Alright then. [ it looks a little weird, but it has a good weight to it. should be useful. ]
[ Looks like the floating head really was a friend and not a foe. And as much as Belial would enjoy continuing to torture Endorsi with hand holding, he hurries over to the open doors instead.
With the doors crackling open behind them, there isn't a lot of time to be discerning, but he's happy to pick up the rocket launcher. ]
Ooh, a big boy.
[ He runs his hands over the weapon, and as soon as the door crumbles just enough for their friends to peek on through, he gets it ready on his shoulder. And the only warning the others get is a delighted cackle before he's pulling the trigger, firing a missile toward the opening—
[She looks over the remaining two carefully, but when she hears the ice creatures begin to come closer... She grabs the weapon that's closest, smiling as her hands grip the morning star. She drops the needle for now so she can hold this new weapon with both hands. Her smile grows when Belial shoots towards the door.]
[When Xichen says 'O Tannenbomber' the title definitely appears behind him.
The door shatters, and swarms of ice bugs crawl in - all various types of insects, all enormous and rendered in glass. At the front, an enormous beetle opens its mouth to spray everyone with a thick fog of frost. But as it does so, one of the jingling missiles shoots directly into its maw and explodes. The beetle explodes as well, firing glass shards around the room - if you aren't careful, you may be cut by these shards!]
[ alright. xichen is a man who likes simple things. clean sheets. plain rice. following rules.
but even he can't deny that the title text is really, really cool.
at the sound of the explosion xichen moves toward the side of the room to avoid the spray of ice shards and loads up an arrow to shoot at one of the icesects (humbugs?) running at them dead in the face. ]
[ This is pretty cool. After feeling helpless in the days since arriving in this place, standing here now with a weapon in hand is liberating.
It's still dangerous—a couple of shards ricochet in Belial's direction, ripping through his pants and sexily exposing his thigh. But it's not enough of a deterrent, and he sneaks past the door when Xichen charges to have more manoeuvrability in the open space when he fires off another missile, swinging the launcher around to smash at any insect getting too close. ]
[She makes a soft 'ooo' noise at the title text, before turning her attention to the insects crawling in. Her grin is sharp, and even when a few of those shards graze one of her bare arms, her eyes are opened wider in excitement. She's immediately moving forward to use the morning star to try and knock one of their heads clean off.]
[ mugen has absolutely no reservations about zooming in, so he does. he click-clacks his way across the room and straight into a mass of them. unfortunately a shard slices his cheek and he ignores it, cackling as he brings his sword down onto one of the bug heads.
sonic boooooom - he's hoping that it'll explode other ones, too. ]
[The arrow Xichen fires has what looks like a bright red bauble at the end of it, decorated with a snowflake. When it hits a snow spider, it explodes, sending all eight spider legs flying around the room like spears. Try not to get stabbed!
The missile Belial fires jingles as it shoots towards the mass of insects near the door - and then it turns around, circles around him, and slams into an ice scorpion that was sneaking up behind him, taking it out. Two other ice scorpions are advancing on him. He will be able to bash them away, but their tails are dangerous, and they try to slam their tails into him.
The morning star whips around - when Endorsi swings it, the star at the end comes off, attached with a chain, and becomes a flail, knocking the head off of another ice beetle. However, the beetle seems able to continue to move even with its head knocked off. It continues to crawl towards Endorsi.
Mugen slices an ice beetle in two, and a sonic blast knocks a group of ice ants back against the wall, where they crash and shatter, with a loud sound like a drum beat. But there's an answering sound from down the hall - a low thrum in the air. More insects are pouring in even as they kill them.]
[ he manages to dodge the flying shards of bugs from doing any serious damage, but they do rip through part of his flowing robes and his cut off a bit of hair there. xichen takes stock of the situation - they're underground, in a tunnel, and their enemies seem to all be coming at them from an undetermined point while they're in here. even with this new weapons, this won't last long, especially for how they explode. ]
Everyone, we have to make our way back out of here to the surface! [ xichen shoots for the wall on the other side of the door, hoping to cut off the rush with a tannenbomber explosion so they can make a break for it. ]
[ Belial does catch one of the scorpions as he swings the rocket launcher, though it's not enough to destroy it and he slams the launcher again to break the ice, but the pause lets the second get a hit into his side, cutting through skin before he manages to smash the tail and kick it away.
Xichen has a point when he shouts at them; the insects are too close for him to use his weapon safely, and he'll be shredded to ribbons of he tries. ]
Yes, master.
[ So he'll play along, firing the missile launcher again in the direction they need to run in, releasing two blasts in quick succession to try and garner safe passage. ]
[This time, she swings down to hopefully smash the body of the one that's still approaching her. She looks just as excited as she did a moment ago, before she frowns and sighs when she hears Xichen's words.]
Can't we kill a few more?
[She says that, but she'll follow the others as they attempt to escape.]
[ the explosions are hard to dodge - he ends up having to jump and kick off of the wall to avoid one, coming down with both his feet to shatter another one. he's bleeding here and there, having taken the brunt of a few shards of ice, but he doesn't seem to notice or care.
instead, he laughs, and elbows endorsi in the side before taking off in the direction that both xichen and belial have attempted to clear. he'll help out here as necessary, slashing at whatever comes up on him.
[The combination of Tannebomber blasts and jingle missiles slamming into the crowd does sheer a path towards the door, although it also sprays shards of ice across the room.
Endorsi is able to fend off the insect coming up behind her, but others are crowding nearby, following behind her and Mugen.
As Xichen and Belial head into the hallway through the path they cleared, two giant ice moths appear before them, flapping their wings with a thrumming sound, blowing blasts of icy air towards them. Behind them, a group of ice critters start nipping at Endorsi and Mugen. It appears that they're surrounded now.]
[ ice shard cuts through on his shoulders and one on his ear he can take, as he heads out into the hall. the sign of the moths aren't good, but it's clear that the icy air is from the wings, and the wings are very large targets. ]
Shut the door and trap them in the room! [ xichen shouts back to mugen and endorsi, and then squints through the wind and fires two more arrows toward the moth's wings. he aims specifically for the side of each moth that is closer to the other and not the wall, hoping to cause a blast that will not only destroy one side of a moth's wings, but will also help throw off the other's balance. ]
[ That's a smart plan, and they'd probably gotten a little too power hungry when they'd gotten their weapons, but Belial's too far from the door now to do anything, so he'll leave that to one of the others.
He takes aim when Xichen does, darting to the side to follow his example and shooting a missile at the other moth, in an attempt to use both their attacks to send the two creatures crashing into one another before firing a second toward the screens to try and see if they can blast through.
There's a lot of creatures around them though, and as soon as he's fired the launcher is back in his hand like a club, batting away at anything getting close. ]
[She pauses for only a moment in surprise as she sees the moths, but then she nods in understanding at what Xichen says. Turning back for a moment, she uses the morning star to sweep across the encroaching insects in a wide line, hoping to create space between them and the door so that Mugen can shut it behind them. As she does so, she looks towards him.]
[ this is so batshit wild that mugen doesn't even begin to question the giant ice moths. he's busy with the ones behind them, anyway - endorsi tries to clear some space and he gets the picture quickly. in fact, he shoves her into the hallway as he swings another sonic blast in the direction of the bugs, and then attempts to slam the door closed behind them, once both of them are out with belial and xichen. ]
[Mugen and Endorsi manage to close the doors behind them, trapping the bugs back in the room. But there are still bugs around them and in front of them - they're now backed up against a door.

Meanwhile, one ice spider comes running at high speed, charging right at Endorsi.]
his regular sword and powers don't work, and when xichen thinks back to what the professor says, something about the yule tide, using specific kinds of energy... maybe there's a way to make these weapons better? it's hard to focus on warm & fuzzy memories of his childhood while being swarmed by the months and the bugs, but damn if xichen doesn't try and see if he can make his next shot stronger.
he readies a shot to fire off at the next nasty thing that gets close to him. he hopes it works, because the only other thing he can think of is, ] If only we had fire.
[ Belial's thinking along the same lines as Xichen when he sees the moths essentially shrug off their blasts, and while he's not nearly zen enough to be merry while they're being attacked from all sides, he's faked higher peaks in the past.
He hums the same song from earlier as he heads closer to Xichen, ] jingly balls, jingly balls [ and grabs his arm in lieu of his hand, his launcher back on his shoulder as he fires: ]

[Her first instinct is to try and kick this spider away, but with her tragic nerfing and what happened to her hand earlier... Instead, she swings the morning star around, aiming down with the spikes to try and crush the spider underneath once it comes close enough. It's quick, but...]
[ belial and xichen have the moths handled, it seems like? or they have them handled enough, because - well, mugen's about to do something stupid.
it's meant to help, because he knows she's very capable of handling herself. he doesn't say a word, just leaps towards it with his sword, aiming to slice a leg off in tandem with her smash --
and also to block any sort of revenge damage coming for her. ]
[Endorsi brings the morning star down on the spider, but the morning star slams against a thick defensive shell. It rears up, screams, and moves to bite her head off. Mugen's attack to its leg, likewise, doesn't manage to slice through, but it unbalances the spider a little. And his effort to block revenge damage does work - the spider will take a bite out of Mugen instead of Endorsi.
Xichen will find that his thinking sappy thoughts does add a little bit of power to his shots - this time, the bauble that appears at the end of his arrow has a smiling picture of a young Xichen on it, and when it explodes, the moth isn't injured, but does hiss in pain, and it blocks the moth from attacking again. The other moth tries to swoop and attack Xichen in revenge.
However, when Belial says the words 'Feliz Navidad,' something happens. the rocket launcher fires out - a second launcher, and a third, and a fourth. All four launchers fire at once, shooting rounds and rounds of bells. These stick to the moth swooping to attack Xichen, all over its wings. It struggles to shrug off the sticky bells, but instead they explode - setting the moth on fire and causing it to melt.]
