LOCATIONS;

LOCATIONS

the mountain.

Standing outside, most of the time you can barely see anything even a foot in front of you. There seems to always be a blizzard out here, and everything in your line of sight is a white haze of snow. The snowbank you're standing on goes nearly to your knees, and any footprints you leave behind you are soon buried in a new layer of snow.

The wind howls out here too loudly to hear anything either, though sometimes you swear you can hear strange sounds far away, just past the storm - maybe animals somewhere out in the woods? Jingling bells? Or the cracking of branches as something comes nearer. . .

From time to time, for brief moments, the storm will let up for just long enough that you can get a better sense of your location. You're clearly on the side of a mountain, near the summit. There's a sparse dotting of trees some few hundred feet below you, but they abruptly stop as the elevation is too high where you stand. All around you, on either side, is a range of mountains, seemingly as desolate as the one you're on.

Aside from the trees, below you, you may be able to make out what look like caves and ledges in the side of the mountain. Unfortunately, for now, it's unlikely you'll manage to get near enough to see what those might be. Nearly every time you step foot outside the lodge, the swirl of wind and snow starts up again, and you find yourself turned around quickly, lost in the snow until your feet happen to carry you back towards the lodge. Maybe one of these times you'll get lucky and find yourself somewhere else. . .?

the lodge.

Nestled near the summit of the mountain is a large and cozy mountain lodge with very thick walls. As soon as you step in the door, the freezing cold snow gives way to the warmth of a crackling fire. Everything you'll need for a comfortable stay can be found inside.

the lounge.

The warmth from the fire comes from the large fireplace in the lounge, which is always on and roaring. There's a pile of logs next to the fire, and you may need to replenish the fire occasionally so it doesn't go out. Fire tending tools are set out next to the fire. Hung from the fireplace is a stocking, labeled only with an embroidered letter K.

Surrounding the fireplace are warm sofas and cozy couches, covered in soft blankets for you to warm up. There's also a bookshelf, which is full of entirely Christmas and winter themed books, and an old record player which plays only Christmas carols. The lounge is well decorated for that cozy mountain atmosphere, though some of the decor is strange

In the corner of the room is a Christmas tree, brushing the ceiling of the room and hung with ornaments, tinsel, and twinkling lights.

the kitchen and pantry.

Next to the lounge is a comfortable kitchen and pantry. Though not particularly fancy, the kitchen is perfectly appropriate and well equipped to cook whatever you like. You can find pots, pans, dishes, and utensils in the cabinets. There's also a knife block on the counter, with a note pinned to it.

Attached to the kitchen is a large pantry. Most of the ingredients appear to be for making baked goods, though there is plenty to cook meals, as well - particularly hearty, cold weather foods such as stews or meat and potatoes. There's an extensive supply of ingredients for making hot cocoa with marshmallows as well, and candy. Somehow, whatever you cook from these ingredients tastes delicious no matter your cooking skills, and fills you right up, but the feeling of fullness never lasts long before you're hungry again.

In the corner of the pantry is a crate, stocked with about twenty cans of off brand canned ravioli and spaghetti. These taste disgusting no matter how you prepare them, but you don't become hungry again so quickly after eating these.

the game room.

The game room is a little smaller than the lounge, with a table and a few comfy chairs and a big, soft couch. In the center of a table is a bowl of candies. The cabinets in the game room are filled with board games, although all seem to have a couple pieces missing that makes them slightly hard to play.

There's a television on the wall, but the only channels it gets appear to be playing Christmas movies 24/7. If you prefer, you can play one of the classic Christmas movies on VHS that can be found in one of the cabinets, though these are a little strange - they seem choppy in parts and often dissolve into static. In the static, you can see a strange shadowy figure from time to time and hear the sounds of laughter.

In the corner of the room is a small bar. It has limited quantities of brandy, rum, and flavored schnapps, plus all the non-alcoholic ingredients you might need to warm yourself up with some toasty drinks.

the attic.

The attic is up a ladder from the hallway, and is much chillier than the rest of the house. Up here, you can find boxes full of toys and Christmas decorations, an old sled, a few bundles of birch branches, and, in the corner, a very large sack tightly tied closed.

the shed.

You'll have to venture out into the snow out the back exit, carefully avoiding the hanging icicles, before you come to a covered outdoor area and a shed. Inside the shed, you'll find snow equipment - snow shoes, skis, ski boots, and poles, snowboards, helmets mountain climbing equipment, climbing boots, ice picks, sleds, and one snowmobile with about a quarter of a tank of gas left.

the hot tub.

Next to the shed, tucked away beneath the roof for a little protection from the snow and wind, you'll find a hot tub, warm and ready for you to take a dip. What better place to ride out the blizzard than this?

the gondola and the ravine.

Going right from the entrance to the lodge, you may want to watch your step - given the white out, it may be a shock when the snowy ground abruptly gives way to steep cliffside. You can't see far down it, but you get the sense it's a long drop. You may also notice cable wires that descend down into the ravine.

Right on the edge of the cliff, tucked against the house, is an old gondola station. A large tram, large enough to fit twenty or so people, is in the station, but the power to the station seems to be out, and you won't be able to get the steel doors to the tram open. Looks like this isn't your way out.

the bedrooms.

Down the hall from the entrance, you'll find six cozy rooms, each with two bunkbeds. A mint is on the pillow of each bed. On the door of each room is a wooden plaque bearing the name of the room, and a small chalkboard with the names of the room's occupants written on it in curly handwriting. Inside the closet in each room, you'll find clothes in your size - flannel pajamas, sweaters, long underwear, snow pants and jackets, thick warm socks, boots, mittens, and toboggan hats. All are warm, cozy, and decorated with wintery patterns and designs.

Inside each bedroom is a small fireplace, with four stockings hung and embroidered with the names of the rooms' occupants. Each room also has an adjoining bathroom with a bathtub and peppermint scented toiletries.

The room assignments are as follows:

Peppermint: Ogata Hyakunosuke, Chang Geng, Bedivere, Lucilius, Galo Thymos
Gingerbread: Seraphine, Zhongli, Apollo Justice, Kray Foresight
Nutmeg: Mugen, Ozymandias, Nezumi, Shen Qingqiu
Cocoa: Luo Binghe, Endorsi, Kaz Kaan, Lan Xichen, Lio Fotia
Chestnut: Nine, Caster of Limbo, Belial, Arcangelo Corelli
Fruitcake: Estelle, Jin, Katarina Claes, Ryan Farrow
